Current Research
I spatially model forest ecosystem and management impacts on forest tree species composition, landscape pattern and wildlife habitat suitability. I support the research of several scientists within our work unit, and graduate students, providing expertise in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), spatial metrics, computer programming and spatial analysis.
Why is This Important
Natural and management disturbances occur at a local scale but long term cumulative impacts occur across large landscapes. These long term impacts have ecological and economical ramifications.
